Temperature broad leaf (LAT-B3 and LAT-B4)

The Leaf-to-Air-Temperature sensors (LAT) LAT-B3 and LAT-B4 are precise dual-probe sensors designed for continuous measurements of leaf surface and ambient air temperatures. Two high-precision micro-thermistor probes simultaneously measure leaf temperature (Tleaf) and air temperature (Tair). Each sensor is individually calibrated by matching the two probes, ensuring high accuracy in determining the leaf-to-air temperature difference (ΔTleaf-air), which is calculated from the concurrent temperature measurements.

These devices are suitable for long-term applications under outdoor conditions. Due to their extremely low power consumption, Ecomatik LAT sensors are ideal for battery-powered solutions, e.g., in IoT applications.

The LAT-B3 is mounted on broad leaves using an ultra-light-weight magnetic clamp mechanism. The LAT-B4 offers both magnetic mounting and an alternative ultra-light-weight carbon rod clamp mechanism, making it especially suitable for thicker leaves with a leaf thickness greater than 0.7 mm.

Limits

Suitable for leaf dimensions

Note

The output signal of all Ecomatik temperature sensors is an analog DC voltage. In addition, digital SDI-12 interfaces are available depending on the sensor model. Our temperature sensors are therefore compatible with almost all common data loggers and microcontrollers with analog voltage input channels (e.g. Arduino) and can also be integrated into digital measurement systems via SDI-12.
